چکیده
This paper proposes a performance evaluation model for e ective job scheduling in global computing systems. The proposed model represents a global computing system by a queueing network, in which servers and networks are represented by queueing systems. Evaluation of the proposed model showed that the model could simulate behavior of an actual global computing system and job scheduling on the system e ectively.

Performance Evaluation Model for Scheduling in Global Computing Systems
Striking progress of network technology is enabling highperformance global computing, in which computational and data resources in a wide area network (WAN) are transparently employed to solve large-scale problems. Several high-performance global computing systems, such as Ninf, NetSolve, RCS, Legion and Globus have already been proposed. Each of these systems proposes to e ectively achieve hig...

Abstract— High-performance computing and vast storage are two key factors required for executing data-intensive applications. In comparison with traditional distributed systems like data grid, cloud computing provides these factors in a more affordable, scalable and elastic platform. Furthermore, accessing data files is critical for performing such applications. Sometimes accessing data becomes...

The objective of this research is to develop and evaluate eective, computationally ecient procedures for scheduling jobs in a large-scale manufacturing system involving, for example, over 1000 jobs and over 100 machines. The main performance measure is maximum lateness; and a useful lower bound on maximum lateness is derived from a relaxed scheduling problem in which preemption of jobs is bas...

Many defects in manufacturing system are caused by human resources that show the significance of the human resources in manufacturing systems. Most manufacturers attempt to investigate the human resources in order to improve the work conditions and reduce the human error by providing a proper work-rest schedule. On the other hand, manufacturer deal with machine scheduling based on demand and wo...

With increasing competition in the business world and the emergence and development of new technologies, many companies have turned to integrated production and distribution for timely production and delivery at the lowest cost of production and distribution and with the least delay in delivery. By increasing human population and the increase in greenhouse gas emissions and industrial waste, in...
